Viva Las Vegas

A few weeks ago, we were invited to go to Las Vegas for the UTAH / UNLV game. I was awesome!! With all the chaos going on around us, it was good to get out of town for a while. Eesti stayed home with cousins, and the two younger ones made the trek with us. Gisele and Logan went to their first football game and loved every minute of it. Oh yeah, one more thing, GO UTES!!!!

Arleen Fogg, our dear wife, mother, grandmother, passed away suddenly the morning of March 30, 2009, at the age of 71. She was born December 28, 1937 in Idaho Falls, Idaho, daughter of A. Lee and Dora Lund.

Throughout her life, she was an example of Christ like love and service to all she came in contact with. She will be sorely missed, but long remembered. Through her latter years in life, she suffered from the effects of Alzheimer’s, she still continued to serve her family in a helpful, loving manner. Her greatest joy in life was her children and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed and loved by all of her posterity.

Arleen served faithfully in every calling she received throughout her life in the church and the community. She is a faithful and valiant disciple of Jesus Christ.

She is survived by her beloved husband Jim, children Terri (Bob) Bryson, Bob (Ann-Marie), Kristi (Mark) Novakovich, Brian (Michelle). 16 Grandchildren, her identical twin sister Kathleen Dahmer, Barbara Giles, and David Lund, and many nieces and nephews.

Arleen Lund Fogg

December 28, 1937 - March 30, 2009

Mom,

Thank you for every thing you did for me in my life. Your example and guidance have made me who I am today. You were always there encouraging me, whether it was baseball, scouts, or just life in general. You will truly be missed. Thankfully, one day we will see each other again.

I love you, Mom.

Draper Temple

On Friday, we had the great opportunity to go to the open house for the new LDS Temple in Draper. What a beautiful building. Eesti just ate it up. Ever since she was old enough to understand what the temple was, she has been dying to go into one. She couldn't stop talking about how beautiful it was, and finally she declared to Michelle and I that that was the Temple she was going to get married in. Gisele loved every minute of it also. The whole time she looked around and said "Ooooo, priddy" and then would point to something. What a great way to spend a Friday afternoon with the fam.

Anything he can do, I can do Better!!

I couldn't let Brian have all the lime light, so here is the list I created for facebook.
1- I came from a "broken" home. I grew up with my Mom and Brother. I have never met my Dad. Thank goodness we bought the house next door to my Grandparents..So they helped out quite a bit.
2- I was born with Strbismas (lazy eyes) and had to have surgery to correct them when I was 6. If wern't for a lady in my ward who worked for an eye doctor and noticed my eyes when I was 4 in Relief Society , I would have been blind today. My Pediatrition said my eyes turning in was an "optical illusion".
3- I have bunions on my feet. My Mom and Grandma both have them. I HATE them.
4- I have always wanted to be a "Career Woman."I guess this stems from years of my Mom saying getting my degree was a smart idea so I wouldn't have to rely on a Man to support me. Yes my Mom is still divorced.:)
5- I am happy to report that I am a stay-at-home Mom and it doesn't bother me in the least to rely on a "Man" to support me or us.
6- I am pregnant with our third child and no this was NOT a planned pregnancy!! I don't know how I feel about it yet...ask me in 7 months.:)
7-It scares me to death to talk in front of an audience...no matter Who it is!
8-I am not as tidy as my husband would like me to be, but he tells me I'm the hottest slob he's ever met.
9-I used to be a vegetarian. I quickly rectified that and now one of my favorite dishes is prime rib, especially from Texas Road House.
10- Yes I love to eat out as well.
11- I have never touched a worm, nor do I ever plan on touching one.But I love to eat snails..a.k.a escargo. yum!!
12-I hate to read ,but I loved reading the Twilight Series.
13-I have very unique handwriting, and it has even been documented by the State of Utah that it is illegible(I think that is the right word) stemming from our litigation.
14-It doesn't bother me to go on a double date with my husband's ex-girlfriend or to her Christmas party..I actually had a really good time!
15-For the most part I am one happy person and always have been, even though my family would say I had a "hard life" growing up.
16-I can't believe I was able to think of 16 things about me.It seems these days my focus is all about my kids. I wouldn't want it any other way.

25 Random Things about ME!

Being inspired by a Facebook challenge, I came up with these 25 random facts about ME!

1 - My favorite colors are red and black.
2 - I am a total STAR WARS nerd. I can quote THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK (my favorite one) word for word.
3 - My wife, Michelle, won't watch Star Wars with me because I sit there and quote it to her and she is tired of telling me to shut up.
4 - I still have most of my star wars toys in the garage.
5 - I grew up in Salt Lake, moved to Anchorage Alaska when I was 9 (my dad was the LDS Mission President there), and moved back to SLC when I was 12, but for some reason I would rather tell people I grew up in Anchorage instead of SLC. Just sounds cooler.
6 - I named my daughter after the first country I served in on my Mission. EESTI-MAE
Eesti means Estonia in Estonian.
7 - I hate my name. BRIAN sounds like a kids name to me. That is why i tell everyone to call me Fogg.
8 - I have turned into a talk radio junkie. The only time my radio is on FM is to listen to my iPod. Does that mean I am getting old?
9 - I am the WORST at "getting back" to people, whether it be via phone, email, text, etc. So i am going to apologize to everyone right now for taking so long to get back to you. I am the worst friend ever.
10 - "The doctors say I have whats called 'a little bit of a weight problem.'"
11 - I tried P90X (the work out program) and thought I was going to die. I need to get going again.
12 - Hi, my name is Fogg, and I am a sodaholic.
13 - I coach football, and am ADDICTED to it. From August to November, that is all i think about.
14 - I played baseball all through school, but refuse to be a baseball coach.
15 - My dream job is to teach history, Russian, and be the football coach.
16 - I would rather watch college football than the NFL.
17 - I have had 3 cars in my life. Red Jeep Wrangler Sport, Black Jeep Wrangler Sahara, and now I have a Black VW TDI Jetta. I told you i liked red and black.
18 - I have an XBOX 360, and PS3 (blu ray is AWESOME!!!), and they were both purchased under the guise of "they play DVD's". Hence why i don't have a Wii yet, they don't play DVD's. CURSE YOU NINTENDO!!!
19 - I made a play list on my iPod dedicated to GUITAR HERO songs.
20 - If I could live anywhere in the world, it would be in the Greek Isles. Beautiful, at least the pictures are, maybe living there would be different.
21 - I just took the Concealed Weapons Permit class, and I don't even own a handgun.
22 - I love to golf, even though I suck at it.
23 - I am a complete and total home body.
24 - I can't stand TV. I find all the blah blah blah annoying. I would much rather listen to music. Usually at night, Michelle will have the TV on and I will be on the computer with iTunes open, headphones on, listening to my music. The only TV I can handle is HOUSE and SCRUBS.
25 - MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU.

Christmas: A Little Late

I have to apologize about how behind we are. Here is Christmas day with the fam. We had so much fun with two little girls. This is the first year Eesti really understood what was going to happen the next morning. Gisele just liked all of the excitement.
